North East Fiddle School

Very excited to be teaching at the North East Fiddle school this term!

The Fiddle School is aimed at adult students of all levels from absolute beginners through to proficient tune players. There's classes in both technique and style and you might even do a bit of musical arrangement!

This term I'm teaching the Level 2 style class (where we'll be focusing on the music of Donald Riddell) and the Level 3 technique class which accompanies Stewart Hardy's class on 'playing tunes in octave unison'.

The classes take place at Westfield School in Gosforth and are booked in 5 week blocks. Don't worry if you can't go to the first 5 or likewise can make the first 5 but will have to miss the next block of 5 - that's perfectly fine! Each 5 week block is completely standalone rather so you won't miss out on anything.

Details for the first block of 5 are as follows:

Wednesdays 26th Sept – 24th October

Level 1:

6.30 – 7.45 pm (includes Technique and Style/Repertoire in a single class):  £40 for five weeks

Level 2 and Level 3: 6.30 – 7.45 pm Technique 8.00 – 9.15 pm Style Both classes for five weeks: £80 One class for five weeks (choose Technique or Style): £45

Absolute Beginners: 8.00 – 9.15 pm  Subsidised rate of £3 drop-in (reserve in advance, pay on the door each week)

If you want to find out more information about the classes and their levels or even book your place then get in touch via the Fiddle School's website: www.northeastfiddleschool.org.uk
